The pocket wifi is very reliable - I thought I'd have issues about using it the whole day while I'm out but it holds up pretty well and the connection is strong too. The battery life is something that I was surprisingly pleased with. They deliver on time and the system is uncomplicated.

I couldn't really use the portable wi-fi, due to my flight being changed to another airport. It wasn't picked-up and was sent back to CDJapan, and I was promptly refunded. thanks!
I will get it shipped to my hotel next time.

cd japan is very easy to use! the picking up and returning were pretty much hassle free! The setting up of the sim card was really easy as well!
The coverage was pretty extensive. I went to places of high altitudes and the data was still working well. For this round of purchase, i actually chose the wrong size of sim card upon ordering and only realised it when i received the sim card. Out of panic and helplessness, I contacted the help service, they replied to me almost instantly and guided me what to do. I am very grateful for that. This is my 3rd purchase from CDjapan i will continue to use their service for my next trip to japan! Thank you CDjapan!

Amazingly Convenient. Signal is very good even when i was at Hokkaido and on Shinkansen. Returning rental package was extremely easy.

It was a real great help for our stay in Japan. We had opted for the normal Wi-Fi not the high speed one as it had been mentioned that it would supposedly work in rural areas as well. Sure it did. We were able to access the net pretty much everywhere. Speed was pretty well as well. It would last pretty well the whole day on full charge. It took a while to get charge. Around 6 hours. If possible get/buy a power bank rather than renting a power bank.

The advertised speed is not what we got. The connection was slow.
Speed test shows less than 1Mbps

Tip top. Easy pickup from Kansai International Airport, good coverage even up in the mountains, and performed exactly as advertised. I'll probably order the same thing again on my next trip.

I rented the Standard Mobile WiFi and it worked perfectly! Battery last all day and I never ran into any issues with signal or speed in Tokyo, Kyoto, or Osaka. Would definitely suggest this product to anyone visiting.

The sim card rental experience was completely flawless. I picked up the envelope at Narita Post office and was impressed by the thorough attention to detail with instructions (in excellent English), return envelopes and even a small tool for removing the simcard from a troublesome phone slot. Within minutes I had Internet access and had great coverage and speed in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka and on trains and subways between the cities. Would recommend this to anyone needing solid Internet access in Japan!

It was my first time using cd Japan and it was excellent. We arrived too early at the hotel to check in, but luckily our SIM cards had already been delivered and we were able to pick them up at the front desk. The installation was quick and easy. The Internet service was so reliable! It worked literally everywhere we visited in Japan, from Tokyo to Osaka. The return process was so easy because there's a mailbox at Haneda Airport.

Overall I would definitely recommend! Very easy to use and customer service was helpful and responsive. The only minor issue I had was that I did not have coverage in some areas of Okinawa, but that is a problem of the wireless service provider and not CDJapan Rental.

Convenience location for collecting, clear instruction, inexpensive fees and it is a real smooth procedures from start to the end. Love you guys service and will definitely use again if go to Japan

I rented this service for 14 days as I wasn't sure it was going to work properly, but since it turned out to be excellent, I extended my rental period for another 30 days. I own a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500, which works only on GSM band data speed was still super fast. I even had a good, fast connection during my shinkansen trip from Tokyo to Kyoto. I'm very satisfied and I'd say this service is highly recommendable.

CDJapan's rental service is awesome! It is very easy to order online. Picking up the item is very convenient as well. We chose to fetch it from the airport's post office. Using the mobile wifi is easy too. The battery life is quite long. It never went off during the whole day. We just recharged it at night when we go back to hotel. We went to different places in Japan (i.e. Tokyo, Osaka, and Yuzawa) and about 99% of the time, we got good coverage. Having a mobile wifi in Japan is really helpful. And I recommend CDJapan very much.
