Bad coverage and low speed.

Very good for the price I pay. Stay in Japan for 2 weeks able to use it Hakone and Kyushu area. With 2 people using it for WhatsApp, Line,Facebook, Instagram and checking my emails all the time.

For sure will use them again next time I go Tokyo.

Rental service was excellent. Easy to understand options and to order on line. Unit was waiting for us at our hotel on arrival (strongly recommend this instead of trying to pick up at airport on arrival). Excellent signal throughout our entire trip to cities and villages throughout central Japan. Good battery life. Simple drop off of return package at post office in departures building at Narita (or any other convenient mailbox). Strongly recommend mobile wi-if hotspot because it allowed us to connect with both our iPad and iPhone through our own password-protected local wifi without having to worry about compatibility of SIM. Travelers should think seriously about whether they actually need voice - for 18 days we were well served by data-only plan for emails, web surfing, etc.

I rented a nano SIM for my iPhone 6 and it worked perfectly throughout my travels in Japan. I found the speed of the data SIM was excellent for voice and video calls as well as for uploading photos to social media and chatting with friends via text messages. I also used online maps to find my way around and I also used the data to plan train travel and book hotels. With all of this usage, I did not ever run out of data. The SIM card was ready for pick up at the post office at Narita Airport when I arrived and the instructions for installation were easy to follow. The postage paid envelope was a convenient way to return the product.

This was the best option for a vacation in Japan! The SIM was waiting for me at my hotel when I arrived, and it worked great, without a problem. It was so easy to drop it in the mail on my last day!

I rented the Mobile WIFI at standard speed. I chose to have it mailed to the post office at the airport and didn't have any problems picking it up when I landed.
I traveled to Tokyo, Hakone, Osaka, Nagoya, and Kyoto and was always able to get a signal and good internet speed. I mainly used the mobile wifi for using Google Maps, train apps, regular web browsing to look up tourist information, and some social media usage, and the amount of data you get was enough for that. The battery life was very good. I used it for around ~9 hours everyday and only charged it when I was back at the host apartment in the early evening. I would definitely consider using the rental service at CDJapan again the next time I travel to Japan.

The device was waiting for me at the airport and arrived fully charged, meaning I could get online to meet with my friends right away. The service was excellent and the only places I couldn't get online were in areas with no cellphone reception, which are rare in Japan.

Best option for having data service on your phone while in Japan. CDJapan offers good coverage throughout Tokyo. Having data service is necessary when touring japan (navigation, translation etc) so you can maximize your experience without having to worry about logistics. I can most definitely recommend CDJapan to any tourists.

The mobile WiFi was incredibly easy to order, collect, and use - I ordered 4 days before my arrival in Tokyo, and it was waiting for me at my hotel when I got there. CDJapan had the best price for the service, and the WiFi signal was always excellent.

Eveything was fine. Taking in mind that my phone supported only 1 docomo bandwidth (which is 4g) and none of 3g and such, i had a connection 99% of time. The only minus (vs prepaid) of the system that you cant pick up your sim in airport after post office closes (pretty early)

i'm using the mifi service in fujinomiya, the signal was bad. inside a building i can't get any signal. so overall i'm not really satisfied with the service.

The service from CDJapan is very easy and comfortable. We were looking for a way in Japan as a traveler quickly and easily to be online via mobile phone. During my last visit to Japan six years ago, always a whole phone had to be rented for high prices. It was only calls possible and no data transfer, as is required today for Messenger and others. Friends have found the service via the Internet. The price is good, the handling is easy. If the model fits, it is extremely easy to activate the SIM card. The mobile was online in a few minutes. In most areas, we were very accessible by mobile phone. The service for travelers as a whole is highly recommended.

Everything was excellent. The WiFi arrived on time, battery and reception are very good. Being able to look up train connection times on the fly is something you don't want to miss for saving lots of time and money while doing tourism. It even came with a power adapter with two USB-slots, so we were able to charge other devices at the same time as well. Sending it back with the included envelope was very convenient as well. Just great overall!
