Good service & quality. Wi-fi router battery is also long lasting.

Before rental this I had used a rechargeable 2G SIM card which was sold at Bic camera. I was in a hospital that didn't provide FREE WI-FI. Even though just browsing Facebook, websites and no videos, that spent 2G for ¥3,000 in 5 days. Then I wondered if there was any better service. A website has a good comparison of SIM cards. I considered to use an unlimited rental because I would stay with my mom in her hospital room 24/7 for 3 weeks or so. I minded checking upload and download speed and cost. On the comparison gave no rating for Skype. That's one thing I wasn't happy though, I could use for voice calls on Skype without problems. About the speed, it wasn't bad. just need to be patient with downloading pictures. This unlimited rental is highly recommended. Save money and no stress for 21 days.

The 110mb of high speed doesn't last long and the slowed speed after the 110mb will not work for video or media messages. It felt like dial up speed. If you just want for texting it is probably OK

Great, reliable Wi-Fi and SIM card service. Speeds were consistent, even in rural areas, on trains, and in underground shopping areas.

Bought 2 sim cards for myself and my boyfriend. Easily used above the 110mb per day (which leads to reduced speed of 200kbps), however did not notice a significant drop in speed - was better than our speeds in Australia still (speaks a lot about the AU network infrastructure!)

Also worked on shinkansen for me. Noticed someone said it didn't work for them.

I rented a portable wifi from CDJapan twice now through the recommendation of my friend and both times the experience has been fantastic. The price is the most affordable I can find and even with two people using the wifi (we usually went over the limit very soon) it still didn't feel like it went too slow.
Aside from the device itself, I had some issues on my way home and could not mail my device back and had to mail it from Canada. The customer service rep was incredibly understanding and helpful and I am so so grateful for this experience. I will recommend this to all my friends travelling to Japan for sure.

good network, works almost everywhere, would definitely buy it again

This is my second time I use this rental service. Easy set up if you follow the instructions! No connection problems throughout Japan. Highly recommended. Providing the return envelope with the addresses written makes returns super hassle free.

Excellent, very fast 4G.
Lucky I had request for sim to send to hotel as my flight was delayed and collection point at airport would be closed.
APN entry can tricky for those who had never understood what is APN.

The ease and reliability of renting the portable wifi could not have been simpler. Delivered to my hotel, it was waiting for me at check-in and operational in less than a minute after opening the envelope. It went with me everywhere and ready to use at anytime, so no more searching for a wifi hotspot! It was more reliable than the international plan I've used before with my smart phone. At a concert venue, I was even able to connect a couple of friends' devices to my wifi, so we could communicate with other friends and post to Twitter and Facebook. I've been a CD Japan customer for years, buying CD's and DVD's, so I had no hesitations about the service this rental would provide.

Very helpful and the unit would last for Whole day use

I am very satisfied with my CDJapan service. Ordering, receiving, and returning my device was very easy. And when my unit began to malfunction, CDJapan sent me a replacement right away, so I was not inconvenienced. I plan to use this service on my next trip to Japan.
