The SIM card rental is great overall. The SIM card arrived on time, the set-up instructions were easy to understand and it was easy to return. The only downside is that the fast data allowance was used up very quickly and the data was too slow for many things. However, it was enough for messages and navigation which is most important while travelling.

Receiving the SIM card and mailing it back was very easy once I made my decisions as to where to receive it from (my choice was airport post office just because I knew where it was). The signal was strong and fast allover Japan. It seems however that near the end of my trip the speed had dropped significantly. I wonder if that was related to me exceeding some threshold for capacity over certain number of days. Some cell phone companies impose such limits.

Easy to use and return.
The only problem is the quality of signal and battery life. I had to bring two pocket wifis for all day use from morning till night. And this one had weaker battery life. Signal was also poor in certain areas

Very easy. Package was at the post office in the airport like it said it would be. Inside the pocket wifi was fully charged and ready for use. Return service was extremely easy as a return envelope was provided.

CDJapan was very easy and seamless to use. Their e-mail communication was very clear and prompt with instructions as well as the instructions that came with the mifi in the mail. They also made drop off quite easy as I was able to just drop it off at the mailbox on my way out of Japan at the airport! The only feedback I would have is that the standard mifi speed definitely throttled more quickly throughout the day than we expected, especially if just two people are using it, so I would definitely recommend others upgrading to the more expensive one, although I'm not sure if this is exclusive to CDJapan or if other companies also had the same issue.

This SD card was an absolute lifesaver in Japan. Strong signal basically everywhere we were in either Tokyo and Kyoto, and the battery life was exceptional - it would last something like 10-12 hrs on a single charge. Small enough to take around in your pocket - an absolute must-have for any Japan trip.

Easy to order, pick up and return. Everything worked the way we expected. The modem had a good speed even with 10 users connected (We were in Tokyo area). Good value for the price. I can recommend to everyone.

Fantastic product that I would highly recommend. It was delivered on time to my hotel and really easy to set up and use. I never had any problems connecting even when I was in the mountains. The battery lasted a long time in the way I used it (I only turned the device on when I needed it; I didn't keep it on continuously). The price was amazing compared to other companies and I feel like I got a great experience for it.

The service from the order in my country through the shipping of the items in Narita airport and until returning/posting back the rental - all was great. The sim card of NTT DOCOMO worked excellently all over Japan. The booking of the rental was clear and convenient. The on- line order process was clear and easy. The explanation papers attached to the parcel were helpful. The instructions as to returning the rental were clear and helpful as well as the ready made prepaid envelope for returning the rental.

Good coverage all over Japan

We would highly recommend this service for all travellers, made a huge difference to be able to rely on good speed consistently available internet access, to use translators and maps wherever we were travelling, in hills, south islands. Service to pick up at first hotel was excellent Next time we will get one each.

We travelled broadlly, even in the mountains, and never encountered a poor signal. This service made using train schedules and google maps and directions so easy. A life saver. The best money we spent on the entire 2 week trip!

I received the package with the SIM card rented without problems; Inside were clear instructions on how to configure the chip on the mobile phone to gain access to the internet. The procedure for returning the rented items is as simple as described on the website, just place them inside the already filled letter, close it, and insert the letter into the mailbox. As for the internet connection, only a few times it became unstable, within subway stations or in tunnels, which is understandable. Overall, I found the service provided by CDJapan extremely satisfactory.

Website explanation is very detailed and it all worked exactly as explained.
Device was delivered on the date requested and I was fully connected minutes after receiving it. It even worked on the Shinkansen while it was travelling at 275km/h= too cool.
This was my second time renting from CDJapan and I will use them the next time I visit Japan.
