This is probably the best and least expensive way to stay connected with the internet while temporarily in Japan.
All worked perfectly, with a reasonable download speed everywhere I went in Japan.

I found the whole process from ordering, pick-up, use, and return very easy and convenient.

Very pleased CDJapan Wifi device. Strong range and long battery life - on most days more than 12 hours on a single charges. Internet speed is very acceptable in most conditions. Package was delivering upon check in and the convenient of returning in the postbox at the hotel. Very convenient, easy and low cost.

I was very satisfied with your rental service as I booked the pocket wifi just 1 day before my flight and all rental procedures and your reply are fast. Collection of pocket wifi at Kansai Airport Post Office also very convenient. The wifi coverage is wide in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo and surfing the net is fast too.

It was hardly the promised speed and coverage. Very poor reception even inside our hotel room on the 15th floor the reception is very weak. The battery drains very fast and charges very slow.

Expensive compare to some other service provider

The service was EXCELLENT! The Wi-Fi router was very good at picking up signals, except in really rural area, or in forest or in tunnels. I generally got LTE connection (which is better than 3G?). The device never ran out of power with my daily use, even though I left it on or forgot to turn it off for a long time. I don't know if it drains battery power when there is no cell signal, like it does with cell phones, but I usually turned the device off if I knew the signal was weak or not available. The carrying bag was very helpful in keeping the router together with the charger and cable, and the whole package was very easy to carry in my tablet pouch.

Thank you again for the rental service. This was my third time renting a wifi unit. It worked wonderful during my stay in Japan. Though, whenever I went to live houses that were located in basements. I still had no signal when I was in each live house. Is there any way to ensure that I can still transmit and receive a wifi signal when I am in live houses that are on basement floors?

Battery life was only half a day. Service was.patchy in Karuizawa. Very disappointed! However I was glad that it was small and light.

Sim waiting for me when i checked into my hotel, and easy to use instructions on how to use. Generally good service, I did have some issues with it reconnecting when it went out of range but this may have been my device.

I booked the cheapest one and i feel speed is very fast for me. The price is very cheap for me if compare to other rental wifi company. Good and fast.

I'd like to thanks cdjapan for this extremely useful service. I'm very satisfied with the rent of the pocket wifi and thanks to it I could make my trip much more easier and comfortable.
The pocket wifi promptly arrived in time with clearer instructions on how to use it and it was very easy to return it by mail.

The modem had good reception and the speed was quite good. The only complain is:
1) The battery, once fully charged, didn't last more than 3-4hours. This is half on what a modem like this can achieve. So I suggest you only rent modem with good/new batteries.
2) When I picked up the phone at the post office in Osaka airport, it only had 40% of the battery charge left. This combined with the issue mentioned above meant that I ran out of batteries after 90 minutes, just in time when getting into the hotel. I recommend you fully recharge the batteries before delivering them to the next customer.

I had no problem whatsoever with the service, it worked really well throughout the trip. Speed was fast and reception was widespread. Any inquiries I had were very promptly answered. As I am very active in using social media apps, the daily was quite restraining. But overall it was great and worth the money. Will definitely use this service again.

I really enjoyed using the data card, it saved my life. The speed cap was a necessary evil and I didn't normally have too much trouble with it, except when using LINE or messenger. I missed the warning email because it was sent literally the day of termination, so I had to take another day to send it back. That was a little annoying.

Amazing service , very efficient and very convenient

It is a very easy to use company. Order online one day get it the next. After you finish just drop it off in any mailbox which is convient. I would use this company again if I stayed in Japan for a short period of time.
