The service is great and reliable, sadly the modem battery seemed to be faulty, beside the fact that I had to charge it couple times a day and watch it so it doesn't heat too much. The service was good.

Great overall. The back cap was broken on arrival so we had to fix it in place with some bandaids so that's the battery doesn't fall out.

The whole experience was very smooth and easy. The pocket Wifi device was delivered to my hotel in advance so I could pick it up at check-in. Coverage in Tokyo was spotless and the return process was easy and without any issues.

Not nice. When I got the unit it was not charged at all. I wrote & complained about it. The reply was maybe it was activated while packing. But this couldnt be because it you have to really press the on button. I think it was not really charged at all. Good thing I had a power Bank with me that I used .
Another thing is the charging time is soo long and slow, more than 4 hours charging. There must have been something wrong with the charged also.

This service worked flawlessly. Not once did we have any major issues.
The two minor issues was that the device's language was set to Japanese, which was fine and expected. I understand Japanese and I could use it in Japanese or in English, but perhaps for those who don't know the language, they could be confused. Maybe include in the manual how to change the language. My other minor issue was that the 5ghz network would get forced off and our pocket wifi would be forced onto 2.4ghz. This is probably for radar reasons, however it was very sensitive in Tokyo.

Other then that, we recommend and we will use this rental service again. Expect an order in the future!

Not a single problem. The experience was great

The rental days might be confusing. The rental plan i choose is 15 days. So i had expected to be able to use for 15 days.
Start from Jan 1 to Jan 15. But received email on Jan 15 mentioning that was the return day.
Might be better to show the return date upon summary of order email before the payment.

I can definitely recommend this service. Your order is easily manageable via a self service UI and you can even enhance your rental time on the fly. The device was charged and ready to go.

I would recommend bringing your own Powerbank as the device charge will not last a day. FaceTime did not work so great. For simple browsing and navigating it was great. Coverage was sufficient in Kyoto / Tokyo / Nara / Nagoya. The coverage was bad in crowded area, on the Shinkanzen or in buildings.

The device can easily be returned via the included prepaid envelope which we placed in a post box at the airport department section.

Overall was the best experience we had in comparison with similar services.

The router was very snall asy to slip,into a jacket pocket or back pack. We were able to take it everywhere we went , ensuring we constantly had safe secure internet access, which was essential.
I ordered it before we left for our 3 week trip and arranged for it to be waiting for us at our hotel. It came with all the necessary information and a return envelope. I posted it back at Tokyo Airport prior to our departure

Pretty great service easy to pick up and drop off. However the speed was way below max 4g speeds in Osaka. Also the cable provided did not charge it correctly luckily my power bank and a new cable worked.

The whole process from the start to finish was simple. I had excellent WIFI reception throughout my holiday. The WIFI speed was also excellent. Would throughly recommend CD Japan Rental pocket WIFI to anyone travelling to Japan. I have already recommended this service to one of my Friends.

I been happy getting the services of CD Japan for our pocket wifi when we visit Japan. It is always reliable with no issues at all. We get what we pay! It is very affordable.

My prior experiences with rental SIMs always involved a short service period and me slamming into the daily packet limit. This time, with the 5G WiMAX mobile AP with 30 days of unlimited data, I had no issues using data as I saw fit every day for my entire month in Japan.

Reliable an reasonably fast connections. Device would last about 10 hours t on one charge. Pick up and return is really easy.

Service is wonderful! They are speedy and timely and very accurate in delivery. Moreover communication is very transparent. WiFi works very well and service is affordable. I would highly recommend!
